DC's Funniest Fed Competition

2009





Funniest Fed returns in September of 2009!  Applications are now being accepted for all federal employees (legislative and executive) and members of the military (active and reserve) who wish to compete. No standup comedy experience is required!  Click here to apply!

Funniest Fed has been featured in the Washington Post, National Journal, Federal News Radio, NPR's Kojo Nnamdi Show, the NYC Underground Comedy Festival and many DC area political blogs.

A documentary about the contest aired at the DC Independent Film Festival in 2008 and won Best Local Film at the 2008 DC Short Film Festival. 


 A portion of the proceeds from the 2009 Competition will be donated to the Fisher House   FoundationFisher House donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers which enable family members to be close to an injured member of the military hospitalized for an illness, disease, or injury. Annually, the Fisher House program serves about 10,000 families. 

The dates for the 2009 contest are:
  • Wed. Sept. 16 (Round I)
  • Wed. Sept. 23 (Round II)
  • Wed. Sept. 30th (Round III)
  • Wed. Oct. 7th (SemiFinals)
  • Fri. Oct. 23rd (Finals)
             **All shows will be held at the Arlington Cinema 'n Drafthouse- Columbia Pike, Arlington VA.
